KC Ice Center

KCIC is the place to be for youth hockey players.  We are the home of the Kansas City Stars Youth Hockey Club.  The Stars, founded in 1999, is the area's largest club with 475+ members and is staffed by highly experienced elite level coaches including several who have played at the NHL and Division I college level.  Stars coaches are educated and certified through USA Hockey, the national governing body for all hockey in the United States.  Stars offer house and travel teams for players age 4-18. Stars travel teams compete in top leagues in the Midwest.

Birth years 2011-2020.  Sign up for your NEXT age division that you'll be playing this fall. (Example 2016's move up to 10U Squirt).

New program and options this Spring. Travel practices on Thursdays, 4v4 on Tuesdays.  PLUS Summer Tournament Team Option!

Tuesday night Travel player 4v4 $175 for Skaters, Goalies half price

Spring 2025 High School 4v4 Hockey League - - 7 week session.
For all high school players in the KC area.
Monday nights April 7 - May 19, 2025.  All games at KCIC. 
7 one-hour games including referees.
8 teams, 10-12 Skaters/team plus 1 goalie.
Must be in high school this fall 2025 to participate.
Cost $200 for Skaters includes Jersey.  Goalies are FREE!
Pre-Register by March 17th to avoid $25 late fee.

HOUSE LEAGUE HOCKEY: KC Stars offers house/rec hockey for 6U/8U, 10U Squirt, 12U Peewee, 14U Bantam & High School JV/Varsity players. Our home rink is KC Ice Center in Shawnee, KS.  Fall/Winter hockey registration is in August.  Fall/winter practices are held during the week and run from September through February with games on the weekends starting mid October and running through February. Stars Fall/Winter house teams play in the Kansas City Youth Hockey League against teams from Line Creek, Independence, Carriage Club, & St Joseph.  The Stars also host Spring Xtreme hockey which runs from late March thru late May.

TRAVEL HOCKEY: KC Stars Gold+ Travel Teams are formed in the 10U Squirt, 12U Peewee, and 14U Bantam divisions. Teams play in the Midwest Hockey League against teams from Iowa and Nebraska and also attend invitational tournaments in the mid-west and central part of the US. Travel Tryout Evaluations are in August.

STARS HIGH SCHOOL JV/VARSITY: KC Stars JV and Varsity teams play in the Mid America High School Hockey League (MAHSHL). Registration is in August, teams start practicing in September, games start late October and run through mid February.

KC JETS HIGH SCHOOL JV/VARSITY AA HOCKEY: The KC Jets are Kansas City's top high school AA travel teams that play in the Midwest High School Hockey League against teams from Iowa and Nebraska.  Tryouts are in August, practices start early September, games start in October, season finals are in early March.
