In overtime, Ice Rats prevailed against Angry Beavers 2 - 1 at KCIC on Sunday. Angry Beavers tallied up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Angry Beavers maintained its lead. Angry Beavers was up one to zero, but wouldn't last. Rallying, Ice Rats went to work and evened up the score in the third period with one goal sending the game into OT. In the overtime, Ice Rats scored one unanswered goal nabbing the victory.
In the first period, Angry Beavers's Doug French got the unassisted goal, with 1:38 left in the period. In the third period, Ice Rats's Mark Ewing put the biscuit over the goal line with an assist from Jonathan Carroll, with 9:49 left in the period, bringing the game to a tie. In overtime,, to move ahead and win.
Mark Ewing added one goal for Ice Rats. Carroll contributed one assist for Ice Rats.
Doug French contributed one goal for Angry Beavers.
Showing off a strong glove, Ice Rats's Brad Gardner stopped 11 out of 12 shots to gain the win. Angry Beavers's Troy Blank finished with 13 saves to get the loss.
Angry Beavers finished the game with a record of 14 wins and 8 losses.
