Chicago Dogs Narrowly Defeats BuzzKill 3-1

Chris Jones gets a goal and Chicago Dogs scores go ahead goal in the first, goes on to get the narrow win

In a tightly contested game, Chicago Dogs prevailed against BuzzKill 3 - 1 at KCIC on Sunday. Chicago Dogs racked up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Chicago Dogs added two goals in the second period and held on to its lead. BuzzKill failed to take the lead in the third period even though they scored one goal, and ended up losing the game.

In the first period, Chicago Dogs put points on the board when Jeffrey Stephens put the puck in the net with 3:15 left on the clock. Debra Corr got the assist on the goal. In the second period, steaming onward, Chicago Dogs's Corey Slinker put the puck in the net with 10:55 left in the period. Maneesh Jhunjhunwala and Ryan Riley got the assists on the goal, to go further ahead. Next, Chris Jones put the puck between the pipes with 6:18 left on the clock. Corey Slinker got the assist on the goal, adding to their lead. In the third period, paving the way for BuzzKill, Josh West got a goal with 6:03 left on the clock. Melissa Fox and Jacob Whitehurse got the assists on the goal.

Corey Slinker scored one goal for Chicago Dogs and also had one point. Chris Jones and Jeffrey Stephens each contributed one goal for Chicago Dogs. Jhunjhunwala, Corr, and Riley each tallied one assist for Chicago Dogs.

Josh West added one goal for BuzzKill.

Having a huge impact in the game, Chicago Dogs's Steven Bell turned away 23 shots for the win, despite being outshot 24 to 20 by BuzzKill. BuzzKill's Matt Ross made 17 saves to suffer the loss.

Chicago Dogs continued their current win streak of four games and ended up with a record of 16 wins and 6 losses. BuzzKill finished the game with a record of 9-14.
