Opossums Falls To Les Dujoix 8-7 In Overtime

Jason Allinder hits the hat trick and Les Dujoix scores game winner in overtime to win in the end on the road

In overtime, Les Dujoix defeated Opossums 8 - 7 at KCIC on Sunday. Les Dujoix and Opossums both scored two goals to end the first period tied. In the middle period, Opossums outscored their opponents and took the lead. Opossums was up five to three, but there was a lot more game to be played. In the third period, Les Dujoix outscored their opponents by two goals and tied for the lead sending the game into overtime. In the overtime, Les Dujoix scored one unanswered goal to win in the end.

Leading the scoring for Les Dujoix, Jason Allinder earned the hat trick with four goals. During the first period, with 6:28 left Allinder lit the lamp with an assist from Stuart Weiner. With 3:13 left to play in the first period Allinder put the biscuit over the goal line with assists from Joel Becker and Kyle Deeney. During the third period, with 4:21 left Allinder got a third goal. Joel Becker got the assist on this goal. Les Dujoix kept going when Allinder put the puck between the pipes with 4:00 left in the third period with an assist from Kyle Deeney.

Les Dujoix's Rex Husted had just 29 saves on 36 shots to earn the win, despite being outshot 36 to 28 by Opossums. Opossums's Jeffrey Smith had just 20 saves on 28 shots for the loss.

Les Dujoix ended their streak of two losing games and ended the game with a record of 13 wins and 8 losses. Opossums finished the game with a record of 9 wins and 13 losses.
