In a hard fought match up, BuzzKill prevailed against Angry Beavers 4 - 2 at KCIC on Sunday. Angry Beavers outscored BuzzKill two to one to take the lead at the end of the first period. BuzzKill gained one goal in the second period to tie the score. The end of the second period saw both teams at two goals all. BuzzKill added two straight goals in the third period to break the tie and take the lead, grabbing a late victory.
In the first period, Angry Beavers made it happen on the ice when Niels Mortensen put the puck between the pipes with 8:16 left on the clock. Scott Nicholson got the assist on the goal. BuzzKill got things going when Robert Hauser netted a goal with 7:10 left on the clock. Nathan Litton and Ronnie Higgins got the assists on the goal, to tie up the score at one to one. Angry Beavers made it happen on the ice when Jeannine Leon lit the lamp without assistance from team mates with 1:50 left in the period, to take the lead and win. In the second period, BuzzKill got things going when Bobby Hauser netted a goal with an assist from Jacob Whitehurse, with 5:20 left in the period, tying the game. In the third period, BuzzKill found more success on the ice when Josh West put the puck between the pipes with an assist from Ronnie Higgins, with 3:31 left on the clock, to assume the lead for good. BuzzKill turned up the pressure when Robert Hauser put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance with 0:07 left in the period, to move further ahead.
Turning in a good performance, Robert Hauser scored two goals for BuzzKill. Bobby Hauser and Josh West each tallied one goal for BuzzKill. Ronnie Higgins got two helpers. Litton and Whitehurse each contributed one assist for BuzzKill.
Niels Mortensen and Jeannine Leon each added one goal for Angry Beavers.
Displaying a golden glove, BuzzKill's Matt Ross made 20 saves for the win. Angry Beavers's Troy Blank stopped 18 out of 22 shots and got the loss.
BuzzKill ended their streak of two losing games and ended up with a record of 9-13. Angry Beavers finished the game with a record of 14 wins and 7 losses.
