Cutters Comes Up Short Against Angry Beavers 4-2

Doug French impresses with two goals and Angry Beavers goes for offense to prevail in a close game on the road

In a close game, Angry Beavers triumphed over Cutters 4 - 2 at KCIC on Sunday. Angry Beavers outscored Cutters three to two to jump in to the lead at the end of the first period. Neither team scored in the second period so Angry Beavers retained its lead. Cutters's fate was sealed. In the final period Angry Beavers scored one goal cementing the lead and winning the game.

In the first period, Cutters's Bruce Meacham got a goal with 11:21 left on the clock. Andy Crow assisted on the goal. Angry Beavers put points on the board with their game when Ronald Stockwell put the biscuit over the goal line with 7:58 left in the period. Bret Woodson got the assist on the goal, evening the score. Angry Beavers found more success on the ice when Doug French scored a goal with 6:54 left on the clock. Ronald Stockwell and Gregory Cook assisted on the goal, assuming the lead for the win. Rolling on, Angry Beavers's Corey Piva got the puck past goalie Jeff Bowers with 5:56 left on the clock. Doug French and Jim Foulk assisted on the goal, moving further into the lead. Cutters made it happen on the ice when Bruce Meacham got a goal with 0:01 left in the period. Scott Colliton and Robert Weatherly got the assists on the goal. In the third period, Angry Beavers put points on the board with their game when Doug French lit the lamp with an assist from Ronald Stockwell, with 7:46 left on the clock, going further ahead.

Showing off a strong stick, Doug French made two goals for Angry Beavers and also had one helper. Ronald Stockwell netted one goal for Angry Beavers in addition to two points. Corey Piva tallied one goal for Angry Beavers. Woodson, Foulk, and Cook each contributed one assist for Angry Beavers.

Contributing to the game for Cutters, Bruce Meacham got two goals for Cutters.

Angry Beavers's Troy Blank finished with 15 saves to gain the win. Displaying a golden glove, Cutters's Jeff Bowers made 40 saves to suffer the loss.

Angry Beavers ended up with a record of 14-6. Cutters ended the game with a record of 9-12.
