Richard Hawkins shoots two goals, Opossums scores three goals in the third to prevail on the road

Opossums overcame BuzzKill 4 - 1 at KCIC on Sunday. BuzzKill tallied up one goal to jump in to the lead in the first period. Opossums tied the score in the second period with one goal. The end of the second period saw both teams at one goal all. Opossums took the lead in the third period with three goals and won the game.

In the first period, BuzzKill's Robert Hauser lit the lamp with an assist from Bobby Hauser, with 10:11 left on the clock. In the second period, things got going when Opossums's Dan Erlandsen scored a goal with an assist from Doug Kapeller, with 9:13 left in the period, bringing the game to a tie at one to one. In the third period, pounding the defense, Tony Masnado put the biscuit over the goal line with 10:09 left in the period. Doug Kapeller got the assist on the goal, to take the lead and win. In addition, Richard Hawkins got an unassisted goal, with 8:00 left in the period, to get further ahead. Opossums pierced the defense when Richard Hawkins scored a goal without any assistance, with 7:15 left on the clock, pulling further ahead.

Having an impact in the game, Richard Hawkins scored two goals for Opossums. Tony Masnado and Dan Erlandsen each contributed one goal for Opossums. Doug Kapeller earned two assists.

Robert Hauser contributed one goal for BuzzKill.

Having a huge impact in the game, Opossums's Jeffrey Smith finished with 28 saves to gain the win, despite being outshot 29 to 23 by BuzzKill. BuzzKill's Matt Ross finished with 19 saves to suffer the loss.

Opossums ended their losing streak of three games and improved to a record of 9 wins and 10 losses. BuzzKill ended the game with a record of 8-12.
