Angry Beavers Fails To Score Against Red Rockets 3-0

Eric Sicilano hits a goal and Red Rockets scores game winner in the first, goes on to win the shutout on the road

In a shutout victory, Red Rockets prevailed over Angry Beavers 3 - zero at KCIC Outdoor on Sunday. Red Rockets racked up one unanswered goal to take the lead in the first period. Red Rockets added two unanswered goals in the second period and held on to its lead. It would prove to be too much for Angry Beavers. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Red Rockets held on to its lead, and was the winner.

In the first period, Red Rockets got things going when Robert Hummel got a goal with an assist from Will Thomas, with 4:16 left in the period. In the second period, Red Rockets turned up the pressure when Warren Cope got a goal with an assist from Chris Coonts, with 7:58 left on the clock, to get further in the lead. Then Eric Sicilano got the puck past goalie Travis Collins with an assist from Gregory Hearl, with 5:20 left in the period, to get further ahead.

Eric Sicilano, Warren Cope, and Robert Hummel each added one goal for Red Rockets. Thomas, Hearl, and Coonts each tallied one assist for Red Rockets.

Turning in a perfect performance, Red Rockets's Bob Klem finished with 24 saves to get the win, despite being outshot 24 to 17 by Angry Beavers. Angry Beavers's Travis Collins had 14 saves and got the loss.

Angry Beavers ended the game with a record of 12 wins and 6 losses.
