In a blowout game, BuzzKill prevailed against Cutters 8 - 2 at KCIC Outdoor on Sunday. BuzzKill scored three unanswered goals to take the lead in the first period. Both teams tallied up two goals in the second period but BuzzKill held on to the lead for the win. Cutters were not able to answer back. In the final period BuzzKill scored three straight goals piling on and winning the game.
Leading the way to a win for BuzzKill, Josh West earned the hat trick with five goals and also had one helper. During the first period, West got the unassisted goal. BuzzKill fired up their game when West put the puck in the net in the first period with assists from John Cruz and Melissa Fox. West put the biscuit over the goal line without any assistance. Steaming onward, West lit the lamp in the second period. Nathan Litton got the assist on this goal. Continuing their roll, West put the biscuit into the net in the third period with assists from Melissa Fox and John Cruz.
Having a huge impact in the game, BuzzKill's Matt Ross stopped 22 shots to gain the win. Cutters's Jeff Bowers had just 25 saves on 33 shots and so suffered the loss.
BuzzKill added to their current win streak of three games and now has a record of 8 wins and 11 losses. Cutters ended the game with a record of 9-10.
