In a shutout game, Ice Rats defeated Les Dujoix 6 - zip at KC Outdoor on Sunday. Ice Rats chalked up two straight goals to jump in to the lead in the first period. Ice Rats added four straight goals in the second period and held on to its lead. Les Dujoix's fate was sealed. With both teams scoreless in the third period, Ice Rats conserved its lead, and was the winner.
Ice Rats's Alex Karwas made two goals for Ice Rats and also had one assist. Getting started, Karwas got a goal with 5:33 left in the second period. Cody Grisham assisted on this goal. With 2:54 left to play in the second period Karwas lit the lamp without assistance.
Having a huge impact in the game, Ice Rats's Brad Gardner finished with 21 saves to earn the win. In goal, Les Dujoix's Kari Walberg blocked no shots allowing six goals against Les Dujoix to get the loss.
Les Dujoix finished the game with a record of 8-5.
